Suhail Stephen
Spiritual Director / Teacher / Pastor
I am from India, grew up as a missionary kid, and have lived in seven countries. My wife, Jennifer, and I have two luminous children: a daughter named Anaya and a son named Marcus. We live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
I did my undergraduate studies in English Literature and Philosophy at Wheaton College and completed my master’s in Community Leadership and Philanthropy Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
I am a trained spiritual director and supervisor, and am also certified to accompany people through the 19th and 18th Annotations of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. I also have the great honour of teaching and forming spiritual directors in a couple of training programs. For more details on my training and current work, see below.
I care about those on the margins and about the Church, and these values and their associated desires led me to found/direct the School of Mercy and Justice and plant West End Abbey – a contemplative church in Winnipeg’s West End (where I serve as the lead pastor). In 2026, I created and started co-hosting a podcast (with a dear friend) about spiritual direction called Listen with Love.
I love film, music, reading, writing, travel, and football (FC Barcelona!).
