Suhail Stephen

Spiritual Director / Teacher / Pastor

I am from India, grew up as a missionary kid, and have lived in seven countries. My wife, Jennifer, and I have two beautiful children: a daughter named Anaya and a son named Marcus. We live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

I did my undergraduate studies in English Literature and Philosophy at Wheaton College and completed my masters in Community Leadership and Philanthropy Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

I received my training in spiritual direction in Sustainable Faith’s School of Spiritual Direction in 2017. In 2022, I completed Sustainable Faith’s Spiritual Exercises Accompaniment training and am certified to accompany people through both the 19th and 18th Annotations of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. In addition to being a spiritual director and teaching in the School of Spiritual Direction, I am also the founder and director of (as well as a teacher in) Sustainable Faith’s School of Mercy and Justice.

In 2019, I planted West End Abbey – a contemplative Vineyard church in Winnipeg’s West End – and serve as the lead pastor. I have been part of the Vineyard since 2001 and currently serve on the national team for Vineyard Canada as a catalyst for spiritual formation. Previously, I pastored at Winnipeg Centre Vineyard, served as a worship leader at both Trinity Vineyard Christian Fellowship in St. Charles, Illinois and at Kowloon City Vineyard in Hong Kong.

I love film, music, reading, writing, travel, and football (FC Barcelona!).
